A Simple Valentine's Day Bracelet

So, is it too early to be making things for Valentine's Day?

I didn't think so. :o)

Random Fun Fact: I have been loving Jade and Turquoise lately.

No idea why, but there is just something about pairing those two colors with red that makes me happy.

Random, I know, but while browsing in Michael's the other day I found some Jade colored beads that I just couldn't pass up.

Unsure of what I was going to do with a string of Jade colored beads, I looked for something red to complement my new favorite color pallet.

When I found these red hearts I decided that a simple Valentine's Day Bracelet was in order!

Seriously, as soon as I saw these beads I fell in love.

The fact that they were 40% off might have helped a little too. :o)

I started with some elastic cord that I had on hand, but you can find it at most craft stores.

Then I just started stringing.

I used the majority of my Jade colored beads, but only one red heart.

Any idea what I should do with all those hearts?

Anyway, after I had the beads strung I looped the left side through again for strength.

To finish, I tied off the ends, added a dab of super glue to the knot, and then snipped off the remaining strings.

And there you have it!

Cute, huh.

Now you have a cute and simple bracelet to wear for Valentine's Day, or St. Patrick's Day, or everyday! :o)

Happy Friday!

Just Be More...Grateful!

Hello, and welcome to the first resolution in my Just Be More series!

 (Yay)!

Resolution #1: Just Be More Grateful.

This is the resolution that started it all. That one area in my life that needed improvement…that quickly turned into 12 others. :o)

I knew that I wanted to make being more grateful one of our top priorities this year, and by starting this series I hope to achieve that.

In the past I have tried to be grateful, but have always felt like I was lacking in this area. Sometimes just saying Thank You is enough, and well, sometimes it isn’t. Sometimes there needs to be just a little more effort involved to show someone that you are truly grateful.

I recently had someone tell me that they felt taken advantage of, and I said all the normal things you would say to comfort them.

That’s just not right!

I can’t believe they would do that to you!

How inconsiderate can one person be!

Then, after I hung up the phone I wondered if anyone had ever had that conversation about me...

That’s when I came to N8dogg and said that we needed to be more grateful. We need to be grateful for not only material things, but for the people in our lives and for all they do. Basically, we need to stop taking people for granted.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I don’t live in La La Land. I know that it is impossible to catch everything. I know that there will be times when I miss things that I shouldn’t, but I also know that I’m trying, and I’m good with that. :o)

So, Thank You!

Just Be More...

Well, it’s that time of year again. You know, that special time of year where everyone decides to reinvent themselves and make their New Year’s resolutions.

Yep…that time of year.

Honestly, I don’t think I have made a New Year’s resolution, other than to “lose weight,” in a couple of years. I have never been very good at keeping New Year's resolutions, or goals, or whatever you want to call them. Don’t get me wrong; I try. I always start off motivated, but overtime they always turn into an afterthought.

Well, this year I would like to make a bold statement proclaiming that things will be different…but I’m not going to do that. Instead I am going to tell you about my list…

Yep, the other day I decided to make a list. It started out with one simple thought, and ended with 12 resolutions, or goals, or whatever. See, they aren’t really resolutions or goals, but rather just “suggestions” for life. Ok, so technically there are one or two point blank resolutions in there, but the majority of the list is about…

Just being more…

Just being more?

Just being more what?

Well, I am glad you asked. :o)

Yep, I have decided to share my list with you…just not all at once. Instead I am going to share one “suggestion” each month in my new Just Be More… series.

Each month I will share a new suggestion, and keep you updated on my progress. Hopefully, posting regularly about my new resolutions will keep them from becoming afterthoughts. However, I am not going to lie…some of these “suggestions” may not happen, but I promise to share them anyway. :o)

So, wish me luck and I will meet you back here sometime this week for resolution #1.

Happy Sunday!
