A Not So Wee Bunny!

So, last night I finally finished a project that has been on my to-do list for years!

See, I found this Wee Bunny Pattern from Wee Wonderfuls a couple of years ago, and instantly fell in LOVE!

I printed the pattern with every intention of making one, but just could never seem to find the right time.

That was, however, until last night!

So, I dug out my pattern, and got ready to sew, but something was missing...

Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE the original Wee Bunny,

but I kind of thought it was...well, just too wee...

So, I decided to enlarged the pattern by 200%!

Yep, Not So Wee Bunny after all. :o)

Next, I cut out my fabric...

and just followed the instructions.

Random Not So Fun Fact: Sewing or Embroidering eyes on a softie is something that I dread.

So, instead I use plastic doll eyes that just snap into place.

See, much easier, and much cuter than anything I could ever produce. :o)

Ok, so after I got him all sewn together it was time to stuff.

Now, because this is a Not So Wee Bunny, it took a lot of stuffing.

(It was more like stuffing a pillow than a softie).

Ok, so once he was all stuff I just hand stithced up the hole in his back, and that was it!

TA-DA!

Introducing, the Not So Wee Bunny!

Isn't he cute!

He's kind of lumpy, but I just LOVE him!

I still haven't added the tail or the nose,

and I am not sure if I am going too.

I kind of like him just the way he is, but who knows, I will probably change my mind by tomorrow. :o)

So, another thing to cross off the to-do list!

Even though it took me a couple of years to complete, I think he was well worth the wait. :o)

What do you think?

Happy Wednesday!

Oh, and A Happy Leap Day to you too!

Good Morning!

Today I am sending (Late) Happy Mail!

Yay!

Well, yay for Happy Mail, not so yay for it being late. :o)

Would you like to see what I'm sending?

Aren't they pretty!

And they are super simple to make!

grabbed some pretty beads...

and some stretchy string from Michael's...

and started stringing! :o)

I love the way they turned out!

So simple, yet so pretty.

I hope their new owner loves them as much as I do! :o)

Now, I just have to put them in a pretty box,

and get them in the mail!

A Plastic Egg Wreath!

Good Morning!

How was your weekend?

As you can see from my recovery picture, mine was pretty awesome. :o)

So, do you remember my plastic egg wreath from the other day?

Please excuse the wreath hanger, I am working on it as we speak. :o)
Yep, that's the one!

Can you say impulse craft, because that is totally what this was.

It all started when I got off work one morning and headed to Wal-Mart.

Random Fun Fact: I have often gone shopping after working all night, then woke up the next afternoon with absolutely no recollection of what I purchased that morning.

This was definitely one of those shopping trips.

I woke up later that afternoon only to discover this.

Yep, a box of 220 Plastic Eggs!

Seriously?

What was I thinking?

I know I had wanted a few plastic eggs to put in my new apothecary jar, but 220, that a lot of eggs!

So, what is a girl to do with 220 pastel plastic eggs?

Well, make a wreath of course! :o)

So, I grabbed a straw wreath frame from Michaels, and started hot gluing.

I ended up using a ton of glue, because not only did I glue the eggs to the wreath, but I also glued them to each other for added support.

It was a good idea, but it did make the process a lot more tedious than it needed to be.

Oh, and in this case the more tedious I was the more time I spent gluing.

By the time I got to the end I had a few gaps to fill in...which explains the bow...

That actually turned out a lot better than I had originally anticipated.

So, even though it was a tedious and time consuming impulse craft, I kind of like how it turned out...

or at least it's growing on me. :o)

So, what do you think?

Happy Sappy Saturday...on Sunday!

My view first thing this morning.
Yesterday I went to Vegas with my Mom and my Sister, and we had a ton of fun!

We went shopping for our cruise (coming up next month!), ate at the Cheesecake Factory, and played a few slots. :o)

Seriously, it was so much fun!

So, even though I don't have any pictures of yesterday, I thought I would share a picture of my recovery. :o)

Happy Sappy Saturday...(on Sunday)!

Hello Spring!

Hello, and good afternoon!

Seriously, what happened this week?

Ugly Brown Pillows Spring Style!
 *Sigh*

Can I just say I am so happy it's Friday!

Anyway...

The other day after I took down all my Valentine's Day decor my house looked kind of sad.

More about this next week...Maybe. :o)

I started to put back up my everyday/between holidays decor when I thought,

"What the heck! Let's get out the Spring stuff instead!"

So, I did! :o)

I still have a couple of things that I am working on that I hope to show you soon!

Hopefully, next week will be better than this week, and we can get back on track. :o)

So, have a Happy Friday, and we will talk soon!

So...What Happened to Tuesday...and Wednesday?

So...Ya...

I'm not really sure what happened here.

I know last night I got sucked in by an old (does 1999 count as old?) movie on Netflix...but other than that I am completely lost on where Tuesday and Wednesday went?

Oh well, I guess that's life for ya! :o)

Hopefully, (and I use that term lightly) I will be back tomorrow with something fun.

However, I do have something to share.

Today, I entered my first Blog Swap!

Yay!

Ok, so if you are totally confused about what a Blog Swap is head over to Wild Olive and check it out!

Oh, and if you like to embroider come join the
First Wild Olive Stitch Swap!

Happy Wednesday...and Tuesday too!

Happy Sappy Saturday!

That's Ponzu sauce, it's like a citrus soy sauce, and it's probably my favorite sauce in the entire world!

It's kind of hard to find here in St. George...

So, I was pretty ecstatic to see this on my desk when I got to work on Friday.

Thanks Greg!

Happy Sappy Saturday!

A Chalkboard Canvas

Good Morning!

I can't believe that it's already Friday!

Yay!

Anyone else excited for a Three Day Weekend?

I know I am!

I have to work, but I have some awesome projects planned, so that kind of makes up for it. :o)

A couple of those projects have to do with this...

Ok, can I just tell you how much I LOVE chalkboard paint!

It's pretty amazing stuff, and the best part is that it's really easy to use.

Which is a BIG plus in my book! :o)

Ok, so I started with a 24 in. x 30 in. canvas from Michaels.

(If they aren't already on sale, make sure to use a coupon because they can get kind of pricey).

While I was there I also picked up some Martha Stewart chalkboard paint (in green).

Then, I just started painting.

QUICK NOTE: Because it's canvas it's not really that sturdy. So, I added a piece of foam board on the back for support and it made a world of difference.

Ok, so after a couple of coats it needs at least 24 hours to dry before conditioning.

Conditioning?

Yep, conditioning.

At first it sounded kind of intimidating to me, but then I found out it just means to lightly rub chalk over the surface that you painted.

So, I bought some chalk...

And did some conditioning.

Oh, and it can get kind of messy...

so, you probably won't want to do this on the carpet like I did. :o)

Ok, so once it's conditioned your all done!

Now just get out your chalk, and go to town!  :o)

Happy Friday!

Am I too old to wear hair bows?

Wow!

So, I just realized that this post is super late!

Sorry, but "life" kind of happened...again...

Except this time it was the good kind of life...so it's all good! :o)

Anyway, tonight I wanted to share my new favorite hair accessories with you all.

Cute, huh.

Want to know where I got them?

Well...

Yep!

See, it's been raining here, and the other day when I walked outside the bottoms of my feet got completely soaked.

That's when I noticed this...

Yep, basically both shoes were falling apart.

So, since I hate to just throw things away, I decided to cut the bows off and repurpose them.

At first I just figured that I could glue them to some elastics or to a headband, but I soon realized that was not a possibility due to their vinyl like material.

So, instead I grabbed some hair clips...

And just slide them on.

Seriously, how simple is that, and the best part is that they are removable.

Today I put one on a headband.

Again, super simple, and I think it looked pretty cute too. :o)

So, what do you think?

Am I too old to wear hair bows? :o)

Happy (Late) Thursday!
